Hinged CQR Stainless, 60 pound

Bought this from my neighbor so I could sell it, hopefully, without hassle.
Too big for my boat or I'd keep it.
Beautiful beast of an anchor for bigger boats than my 42'

eBay new runs over $2,500, used $1,800
Looking for around $800, great deal.
Best offer....?

SW Florida - no shipping figured....

stainless? likely not a genuine "CQR". Is there a brand?
(For example, my secondary anchor is a 44 lb "CQR style" anchor by Danforth. Doesn't mean it is not good quality.)

Some people like to know the brand, before considering purchase...

To point out that this anchor is being incorrectly identified in the ad... as mentioned the last time you posted the ad.

I believe your pricing is off, probably by a factor of 10. CQR's have worked for many people for many years, but they significantly underperform any modern anchor, which you can buy new at the price you're asking.
If anyone disagree, I also have a stainless CQR, approximately 55 lbs that I'll happily sell for a couple of hundred dollars (great finish, no corrosion, slightly bent tang) just sitting in a friend's yard that we dumped when going cruising for a Spade.. In southern California.

As you can see:

Stick my nose in it? Yeah, because I believe you're trying to take advantage of the community and someone who doesn't know better. Put your add on ebay, and add some value to the community rather than trying to prey on it.
Listings on ebay are very different from sales on ebay.

Too bad about the keyboard cowboys with nothing better to do but troll the want ads.
Try sailing, it's a lot more fun.

CQR knockoffs usually have only scrap value, no matter what they are made off...

The value of the post is that potential purchasers will be aware that the item is not the name brand that you claim.

This was brought up in the last thread you had trying to sell this item and yet you continue to make the claim so there can be no argument that you were unaware

Well, actually both those links lead to e-bay error messages... and perhaps that is what you mean by accurately identified!

Neither of those is a CQR brand plow anchor.

The first identifies itself as a "S. S. Stainless Steel Plow Boat Anchor, 60lb/27kg" and makes no claim to be a CQR.

The second indicates: "CQR Hinged Plow Boat Anchor 316 Stainless Steel - 60LBS/27kg" but nowhere on the anchor does it say it is a CQR. CQR is always embossed on the shank. Lewmar currently has the trademark for CQR and I could not find anywhere in their literature that they are making a stainless version. This Ebay seller may not realize that CQR is a trademark and just thinks it refers to any hinged plow anchor.

Scammers in the classifieds is a regular problem. All of us are doing a public service by helping out the newbies that don't know better.
