Anyone anchor in Watch Hill RI?

Travelling down LI sound. I normally stay a night in stonnington. Dodson's is not taking transients this summer!

Was thinking of throwing out the hook in watch hill. Anyone do this.

Re: Anyone anchor in Watch Hill RI?

You will have no problem.
Nice place to anchor.
Better than Stonington.
Very secure, good holding.
Watch Hill YC is a great place to sit for a drink however as of last week they are only open to members until further notice.

Many folks anchor off Napatree Beach, but as of 2018 it appeared to be quite filled with moorings so space may be an issue. There is fine swimming and beachcombing in the vicinity. You will have no trouble with your draft going in, but take care to study and follow the markers, especially in the vicinity of the turn off to Watch Hill harbor. If in doubt you will usually find a lot of room inside West Harbor on Fisher's Island.
