37 ‘ SEARUNNER

Bacchanal is for sale. Built in 1971 by John Marples, noted naval architect and boat surveyor. Featured in his book, “ Knowing your multihull” and in Timebooks, Bacchanal is an icon. Marine plywood composite construction. I purchased it in 2011 from Patrick Dayshaw in Seattle, who sailed it extensively from Seattle to Alaska for many years. I intended to take it through the Panama, but wife says she wants an RV. Bacchanal is lying in Ganges Harbour on Saltspring Island, just north of Victoria, BC. I have John’s survey from 2011, which I can send to serious buyers. Asking $29,000 US, which I have taken into consideration $5000 of work which needs to be completed. PM Rich @ 705 896 2099.

Re: 37 ‘ SEARUNNER

Ahh, that brings back some memories. Sorry, not in the market. Spent some time with John, Michelle (? does memory run true), and Bacchanal in Mexico and the South Pacific back when she was a much younger boat. John was a craftsman, if the maintenance has been decent should still be a solid craft.

Thanks for posting the pictures, good luck with finding a buyer.

Re: 37 ‘ SEARUNNER

Hi Rich,
tried sending you a text; hopefully you got it. Interested in this Searunner! Obviously seen pictures of it in Jim Brown's and John Marple's books, as it's a 'classic'. I had read that John made it without the minikeel; do you know if that's the way it presently is?
