Ah so. The Trans Pac, that I've heard of. Quite likely the insider racing type guys may call it "The PAC" but I wouldn't know. The closest I've ever been to a sailboat race was when I watched...

Never heard the term before but a little google search turned up a couple of articles about cassette rudders. Sounds like a slight variation on what I was thinking, just separating the rudder blade...

Same here. Have gone under the boat to clear lines off the prop at sea but so far in reasonably calm conditions 2-3' waves. However, based on my experience doing some deep wreck dives off the FL...

Ah yes. As often happens, it comes down to filthy lucre. Sure if I had an extra $2000 gathering dust in my bank I would drop it on the ARC and join in the festivities.

But if I had enough...

This does look like a wild and crazy party, but was it $2000 worth of fun? I think might be able to have even more fun than this for less.

Just imagine how much whipped cream you can buy for...

Have to say I have never understood the benefit or attraction of ARC. From what I understand all they do is give you a list of safety requirements, inspect your boat, provide weather information...
