The manual - you got it also at your fingertips with the "?" button from the tool bar (once OpenCPN installed...):

Mick..

then just delete it from the Application folder and start over again. Your settings will be getting preserved.
Make sure that you have "ejected" the former dmg "drive" from the side bar.

Mick,

that looks like the you are running OpenCPN from the installer package: you did not install OpenCPN in "Applications".
