Have you tried setting the screen resolution to a lower setting? Say 800x600 or 600x480, depending on what your monitor supports?

As you are connected to a unit in the SeaTalk network, this explains it.
Raymarine units rewrite the NMEA output, but I would strongly recommend that you rewire your computer and connect it directly...

I'm a bit curious now, I got the same "Smart GPS", and I have fitted many of these GPS'es on new systems. I have never seen anyone with the prefix "EC" instead of "GP".

You can set GPS filter and filter period under the tab "GPS". It might help... I'm not sure if it does anything with the position, but it helps om sog and cog.

Why not pull this directly from the GPS? You should not rely on the plotter to function to get such data to your instruments..
Nothing should interfere with GPS and HDG signal to other instruments...
