Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

You’re correct about a smoother hose. I’m looking. The problem I had was both rise and run. Although the flow is restricted, the rise increased. The system was s working adequately.

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

I wanted to conclude the thread by sharing the finalized version of the system. In the picture you can see the 4 ft. depth of the bilge and at the bottom of it, being a very tight area. The green...

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

I wonder if there is a programmable float switch that could handle the extra drain back.

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

This is all great input and I wish someone had brought the topic up earlier. I would have bought a diaphram pump. I'll try a few other changes. I'll let you know what I find. My other boats, although...

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

They have their problems also, if you're talking about the belt driven ones. I sold four dead ones as parts at a marine swap meet last year.

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

The entire run is 15ft. long. The rise is 6'6". I am agreeing with you on the check valve and I like your idea of the additional alarm. The only reason it cavitated is because I used the manual pump...

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

I would have to disagree with your take on the float switch no matter where that float switch is located, it will shut off when it reaches it's normally closed switch position and the same amount of...

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

Ok...Update and I could use some suggestions. I rewired the whole system with #10 tinned wire. All connections to the bilge pump and float switch are connected wire to wire and soldered, then wrapped...

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

Yes...The former one was aluminum and eaten away. From the sole to the bottom of the bilge is over 3 feet. The unit hangs on one of the floors. It makes it easy to service.

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

Ok...So moving forward. Here is the new set up. A Rule 3700 with it's outlet reduced to facilitate the 1 1/8" bilge hose used on the Rule 2000. I will try it in a week or so.

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

Thanx Don...I should have stated the pump lifted a water column 5 ft. of the 6 foot high corrugated hose..

I didn't think of that about less voltage to the pump lifting a column of water. I'm...

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

I was at the boat today and checked the voltage with the batteries at 12.45 volts. There was 12.35 on the wires at the pump not actuated. Then I turned on the battery charger. The voltage at the...

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

I spoke with Paul at Xylem who owns Rule bilge pumps about my Rule 2000 and explained the 15' run and 6'6" rise. He told me that I was asking a lot of the pump. He of course asked me to check the...

Re: Rule 2000 not lifting

Round three, I will check that.:thumb:

I will check for that. Even though I never initially wired it.

I had a johnson bilge pump that did that. :nonono:

Rule 2000 not lifting

I know manufacturers always over state their specs and I think it may be a combination of that and the fact that my Rule 2000 maybe very old and therefore worn out but here is the scenario…
My...
