There is a tendency among diesel mechanics to use very large starter cable. In cold weather (say, 20 F) a large diesel (typical for a box truck or farm tractor) will draw several hundred amps... |

It is not necessary or desirable to limit the voltage drop to 3% for large motor circuits running at 12 volts DC. You're going to lose about 1 volt, around 10%. It's OK. |
