When I zoom in on the first pic....boat in water.....I notice both the upper and lower shroud go to the same tang, no visible breakage in the toerail and there is no visible bolts (or anything else)...

To my eye....that stainless steel plate is not an original piece on this boat...just the shape of the plate.....the bolt/nut location, diagonally across the plate ??...(where is the bolt head located...

'm curious to know why there is a metal plate there in the first place ????
