Ah, ok, well your question has already been answered I see from other comments. You can flake it into a bag at its foot if you want ease of access. |

Roller furling of the foresail shouldn't interfere with the drifter if you have the rigging needed to hoist it. |

If he wants to straighten the luff, and easier option may be to incorporate a dyneema bolt-rope into it, or simply some 12 strand polyester with the ability to adjust it at the tack. |

Yea, although for a 19' boat an ss stay is probably a waste of money for this application. |

That's acceptable for a drifter, it can be loose luffed. Assuming that you don't have a pullpit that distorts the foot, you should be able to get it to set outside the lifelines with the sheets... |

Anyway, you shouldn't need a stay necessarily, but dyneema would certainly do. I don't see why it would not be able to clear the lifelines though. But you could raise the tack to avoid that. The luff... |
