Re: Riding out a storm, sealed up tight down below. Watch out for CO2.

That's CO, carbon monoxide, lost a friend to that myself.

But not the topic here.

Re: Riding out a storm, sealed up tight down below. Watch out for CO2.

Yes and I certainly avoided any mention of CO2 toxicity being an issue. Getting that idea from the excess greenhouse gasses issue is just silly, and never imagined anyone here would conflate CO2 with...

Re: Riding out a storm, sealed up tight down below. Watch out for CO2.

You are arguing against a straw man you have constructed, for what reason I don't know.

Low O2 caused by too much CO2 is not as immediately critical as that caused by too much CO, as you say,...

Re: Riding out a storm, sealed up tight down below. Watch out for CO2.

If your low O2 is caused by high levels of a gas other than CO2, then you've got bigger problems.

Re: Riding out a storm, sealed up tight down below. Watch out for CO2.

Actually three people sleeping in a van in arctic conditions, the first night we had everything closed up, and yes, woke up choking and covered in sweat middle of the night, desperate struggle to pop...

Yes and having a cheap but effective sensor beep to remind you

if that gives you peace of mind

seems entirely reasonable.

Especially as a complement to propane / CO detectors

who said anything about passing out?

putting in an appropriate meter / alarm is not drastic

no one is saying everyone should do it

but certainly worth a hmm something to consider
