Re: Alternator regulators Balmar or Mark Grasser
That was just one source, hundreds of posts and emails from experts I trust agree. Different with LFP's low resistance, but lead-to-lead is basically self-regulating, any high currents are very... |

Re: Alternator regulators Balmar or Mark Grasser
No the inrush current thing is a myth, ProIsoCharge are an over-engineered waste of money. Again, put sources direct to House, keeping Starter topped, up takes very little, KISS ... |

Re: Alternator regulators Balmar or Mark Grasser
The Cyrix VSRs have a poor rep, unusual for Victron. Blue Seas much better. If main sources all go direct to House, as is best, then just a little 15A Echo Charger is fine to keep Starter... |

Re: Alternator regulators Balmar or Mark Grasser
Yes excellent projects by a Al a forum member, **lots** of promise, great project for those wanting to pioneer the leading edge stuff. And maybe for everyone perfectly rock solid! But early days.... |

Re: Alternator regulators Balmar or Mark Grasser
I **really** like setpoint adjustability for future proofing, I like to plan as if such infrastructure will last much longer than any consumable bank, gives me the freedom to choose a different... |

Re: Alternator regulators Balmar or Mark Grasser
The Balmar is certainly the mainstream VR, and I thought unique in its user-custom setpoints and flexible derating abilities. But perhaps MG's does all that too? They certainly have a great rep as... |
