There aren't limits put on these crowdfunding things, that's not how they work, many projects get 100x or 1000x the initial goal and everyone's happy.

People who donated did so of their own...

There is no evidence it was ever their intention to walk away, that was just an assumption that IMO shows more about the assumers than the couple.

Exactly. There was enough inconsistency for those who want to request refunds.

But GFM makes a cut, they won't shut them down

GoFundMe has already been making refunds based on their fraudulently changing their statement of intentions.

Their edits to the GFM page qualifies as Fraud, so anyone having donated can now request a refund.

I hope felony charges will be prosecuted if they don't start disposal operations soon.
