Yes good times ahead for those buying and French or EUR denominated boats for US buyers.

Euro now 1.07/$ as of today. Parity is not even a question any more. It will happen. Now wondering...

OK things are falling into place quickly now.


Euro 1.08 to /$


that 400k EUR sailboat was $570000 exactly 1 year ago.
Today its $432000 and falling quickly to parity and beyond.

There is not a chance the asking price increases not even a 1% chance on Used boats (new boats- chances are a little higher). No one in the US raised their prices on their Used boats when the dollar...

Last week that projected 400k euro boat would of cost $464000

Just one week later= $454000 -down well over $100k
in under a year .

Swiss move puts Euro at $1.16


So that 400000 EUR boat just 10 days ago was about $480000

I just remembered this old thread and my old Plan.

Looks look there will be an extended move to parity or below for the Euro over the next year or two. It will be interesting how it plays out....

USA isnt a tiny sailboat market. US owners also dont have to pay a VAT if they follow specific protocol and dont intend to leave the boat in EUR waters- as far as I know.

I am the one who started this thread awhile back. The Euro will eventually be at Parity to the us dollar. However a slight "delay" has developed with the current tournament of "who can kick the can...

Yes , however it appears- at least to myself- that the Catamarans priced in Euro denomination (which are most) Have seemed to be somewhat artificially proppped up last few years based on Euro...
