I suspect that if there are dirty looks it is because either they recognize you from a previous encounter or you are suffering from a guilty conscience and are imagining it. We go past sitting boats...

That has always been the problem. The wake usually takes a while to hit you then it takes a bit more time to pick yourself up or get yourself back out of the water. By the time you are clear headed...
