Wrong they are cheaper due to being very plentiful on the second wind market.

Actually not quite correct he does state in several videos to use the largest that can comfortably fit. His tests and charts are comparing anchors of similar weights and in same weight classes.

Stick with the Danforth pound for pound they outperform the fortress.

Keep the CQR as a backup / that specific condition nothing else works. After all you already own it

Especially when improperly designed units are used.
Also I don't use one unless it's actually expect a possible stuck anchor such as in really rocky anchoring areas

Wait till that 3 am when you have to untangle some idiots anchor from yours and his excuse will be I didn't know your anchor was there I thought it was someplace else.

Using a trip line marker bouy saves all that wet diving and let's everyone know where your anchor is

Stick with the danforth in my experience the steel danforth digs in faster and deeper than the aluminum of the fortress .

differing bottom conditions may need different anchors and chain and rode are easily detached and reattached to other anchors.

throw about 27 ft of 3/8 chain on the anchor with the rode and with 60knot winds it will bury deep. My 24 took the tide to pull it out ofthe the mud. Even half the chain was buried

exactly and I cruise all over the place so I carry an assortment that will work in various conditions and bottom makeup.

All are sized at least one up from spec for my defender.

the box is my stern anchor doesn't require chain .
The rest have been in the mud at various times . Sometimes multiples at the same time.

I carry a 35 pound cqr 270 ft of 5/16 chain, 2- 27 pound fortress a 14 pound danforth a 15 pound Bruce claw a 21lb box anchor and I Am Looking for a real northhill...
