What I mean was: "More commonly in response to an instruction or order rather than to a request.

I hear break used in two different ways. But both involve an actual break in transmission to allow for urgent traffic to cut in.

OVER is not the "end of my sentence(s)." Both Over and Out mean that, but in two different situations.

I will bet that that usage is NOT taught on the formal course.


And from my experience sailing up an down the Qld coast on many occasions, many recreational sailors are sadly lacking in knowledge...

Sorry, but I have to disagree.

Anywhere that radio procedures are taught formally (be it military or civilian) you will be taught the same thing.
