I think I am going back to Verizon, just cough up the extra cash
I cut us down to one phone, and for 5 gig of data, actual cost was over $60 with Verizon.
Going to straight talk, which has worked...

Ken, your overseas, and I believe the phones are truly unlocked for overseas use, however they are not 100% unlocked in the US.

I think all newer IPhones are unlocked, I also think there is snow a law that says one day you own the phone, the provider has to unlock it, if you ask.
I own the phone, and am therefore not locked...

I think this seems to sum up what will likely be best for me, go back to Verizon or maybe Sprint, and use the IPhone overseas.
On the boat I have a Wirie Pro that ought to cover data pretty well,...

I understand the quad band thing, way back in the day it was why I carried Balckberries as they were quad band.
However unless I'm mistaken a Verizon IPhone is CDMA only, at least somehow in the US...
