Back when I was Army camping, I always kept a Svea stove with me, mine would burn either kerosene or Diesel. Either was as hot or hotter than butane or propane, but Diesel did have to be preheated... |

OK, you guys are saying that electric resistance heating is nearly 100% efficient and is the most efficient way to heat water right? Then how can a vapor cycle compressor system be up to 70% more... |

I would assume most efficient would be a Solar collector? Big parabolic mirror? But maybe what is more important than efficiency is cost per BTU? I bet then propane or Diesel will come out the clear... |
