Navaid's AIS signal is not generally broadcast from the Navaid. They typically come from a shoreside basestation. So the distance to the navaid that you recieve has no bearing on the signal quality,...

No, you can't share the antenna without an antenna splitter. It is easier to just have a seperate, dedicated ais antenna that is located at least a meter from the VHF antenna. It does not need to be...

If you have one, the MMSI gets programmed into the AIS too.
