A million dollar deposit is a tad high. I assume you meant $1,000. The broker is not going to take a bath and has no say in the final price. Brokers only get paid if the boat sells.

I don't get your approach. If you like the boat and you think you have honestly priced it to the market, then make an offer. It'll cost you nothing and you can see what the seller thinks. If he blows...

Just remember the broke gets paid by and works for the seller, not for you.
