OK, maybe he should take off work and fix the boat. Twelve hours driving each weekend is a huge waste of time.

If the boat is 300 miles from home and you have to go home each week to your job, it might bake better sense to (Heaven forbid) pay a pro to fix the engine.

Would you take a "new to you" boat with known issues to sea and plan on running two or three days straight day and night? With an inexperienced crew? I wouldn't.

The ICW makes far more sense...

What a bunch of hooey! Why don't you go tow them out to sea?

There is something screwy about this post and all their subsequent posts. What they are requesting doesn't make sense.

You can't sail without an engine on much of the AICW and in particular, not through drawbridges. The bridge tender might tale pity on you and let you through but you're supposed to be under power.
