This is the Carbonix boom built for an A-Class cat. With the mainsheet block installed. Same idea as the metal slides, just a different execution.

It isn't really an issue. The sail wants to pull the strop forward, the outhaul acts as a lock to keep it in place.

The only time you ever really need a stop is when you use strops for a midboom...
