Be watchful of shallows north of FB. Don't cut in too close to Cumberland Island and Jekyll especially. Lots of skinny water and sand bars off those islands. I recommend coming in the St. Mary's... |

I hove to a lot. I enjoy fishing over the side off the coast, or just relax for a while and have a bite to eat. Don't understand why more sailors don't do it..enjoy the peacefulness. |

Lostsoul is right. Not many daymarks with lights. The ICW is tricky here in Georgia and North Florida. Be prepared to go aground more than you want to. |

I use MarkJ watch routine too. During the midnight -0400 watch, i'll set a timer for 15 minutes in case I doze off. I like to read in the cockpit if possible and can become a little sleepy, the timer... |

I recommend you follow Tim R's advice. I have GPSNavx, ActiveCaptain, Earth NC loaded on the the iPad. Be sure to visit AvtiveCaptain's web site. Lots of info for you to think about. |

I can use iPad and 4g iPhone with AT&T off St. Simons Island to 10-12 NM with no problems. The service has been good all the way to St. Augustine. |

Have Tides(activecaptain) and Charts (earthnc) on my iPhone & ipad for backup on the C120 Ray chartplotter. I always use the C120, but also double check the others to test the accuracy of the C120.... |
