we are putting in a woodstove for heating the boat with. It's the best place unless we tear out seating, or the cold box. We've got a 2 burner moveable stove which we can use when we need it and...

Re: Propane stove & oven how to take out?

ah, it's not a rotating oven with space on either side. It looks almost like it might've been built into the boat. It's an old cal 28 (from '68), not sure if that was standard to come with them or...

How to Remove Propane Stove / Oven ?

Hello,

I've got a propane stove and oven that the last boat owner didn't use, and when we hooked it up, we're pretty sure it leaks. Either way, the oven part doesn't work, and we would like to put...

Re: What's Your Experience with Cal 28 Turns ?

yea, we have an 8hp. Thinking about upgrading. It's a pretty new motor. The previous owner said he didn't have a problem with reversing, but we do.

However, we suspect he may have been out in...

Re: What's Your Experience with Cal 28 Turns ?

yep, tis true, it's not a keel-rudder system. Someone was insisting it was, but it's not. We were actually just turning with the motor and didn't have an easy time. Someone has suggested turning the...

Re: cal 28 leaning on keel at low tide - damage?

thanks folks.

Wow s/v Moondancer (https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/members/s-v+moondancer-19157.html) that's quite a picture - when the tide comes back in, is there not a risk of hitting the...

cal 28 leaning on keel at low tide - damage?

Hello,

I have a cal 28. In the spot we're in, at low tide of the month, it was leaning while still attached to the mooring buoy. That time is coming up again. Is it harmful to the boat to be...

What's Your Experience with Cal 28 Turns ?

Hello,

I have a cal 28, we're wondering what peoples' experiences are with turning at low speeds in a cal 28. Ive heard that keel-rudder systems don't turn well. We had a hard time making a turn...

Aitken 27 - Any Info ?

I keep looking at a posting for an Aitken 27. There's very little information on it. A price, and pics that show it's a wooden boat. And apparently it's been through the Panama Canal . I'm wondering...

agreed re. charters

I spent years backpacking around, so being on a sailboat isn't about what I'll do for my partner, we bought it together, and we're living in more luxury on our cal 28 than we...

What do I want?

A boat that sails well.

A decent amount of space for two people to live aboard. Last year was a 24', now we're in a 28'.

A bucket, or a head.

No, or very little black...
