I have a 1gm10 and the manual says the small phillips head is the proper one to use for bleeding the line.

Found the problem!!! Loosened the flanges at the transmission and found a big (1") nut had worked itself loose and thus allowing the trans/spline flange to slip back about...

Talked to the mechanic at Complete Yacht Service in Ft Lauderdale. He said the best (and probably only) way to pull the seal and replace it properly is to pull the transmission. YUK!

I have no idea what caused the seal to start leaking, but it is clearly shot. Oil just runs right out after filling. Sounds like too big a job for me (at 74 years) to remove the...

My manual says it's a KM2C constant mesh with servo cone clutch. Do you have to take the whole transmission out to fix it?

And how did you slide the shaft back in were any bolts loose? My boat is in the water and everything seems fine from the bilge side

So I found the trans empty of oil. Put some in and it leaked right out around the shaft entrance. Big job replacing that seal???

Yes I disconnected the linkage at the lever and it moves both ways but doesn't engage the gears. Never Thot about the fluid. Will check that in the morning.

I have a yanmar 1gm10 with 800 hours on it. Tried to back out of slip the other day and the tranny won't go into gear. (No forward or reverse) Checked the linkage and all that it ok. Never heard...

Yamaha problem, need help

I've recently repowered my 23 sloop with a used 9.9 Yamaha outboard engine. Starts great, revs good in neutral,. But when under a load in gear it doesn't want to rev up. Gas comes out of the carb...
