Re: Just Catamarans?

ITS CHEAPER TO GET A PRO TO DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.

Just Catamarans quoted us for the work we needed and then over-delivered at that same price. There was no extra hours tacked on at the end,...

Hi all!

We're planning to sail from St Augustine to Port Canaveral this weekend and wanted to know if anyone had any experience or recommendations for using the Canaveral Lock in a sailing...

Moorings in Florida - News?

Good morning all.

Anyone know of any good mooring fields in Florida on the Atlantic side?

We're moored in St Augustine right now in the Municipal Marina and we're absolutely in love with the...

Re: Would you arrange a survey without being there (re: borders are closed)?

So I did see your update about choosing to wait but I wanted to post my experience anyway perhaps for others.

We bought a sailing catamaran from Sunsail Croatia (sight unseen) 4 months ago. The...

Re: Sugar Scoop Rubber and Adhesive

Pete7, you're the best! When the rain lightens I'll walk back and measure what I have/need.

Many, many thanks!

Sugar Scoop Rubber and Adhesive

Good day everyone!

Any idea where I can order replacement rubber for the sugar scoops? Also, what adhesive and technique is used to affix it?

We bought a 2012 Leopard 44 from Sunsail and the...

Re: Jacksonville Marinas for a Cat?

Thanks a64Pilot! I booked a spot for a month as we need to do some repairs plus I need to make some electrical additions since its an EU wired boat in a 110V world at present! They had one spot left...

Re: Jacksonville Marinas for a Cat?

Thank you for the message! We looked a little closer at Ortega in JAX and we found we should be 5'-6' below the bridge and so we think we can get there. The Leopard 44 should be around 68'11" tall...

Re: Jacksonville Marinas for a Cat?

I was wondering about St Augustine as well. I haven't called Conch House or River's Edge yet but the satellite photos suggest an aggressive tide and you're super close to the Atlantic!

Re: Jacksonville Marinas for a Cat?

Right! I looked it up and the book says my mast height is 69' and the Warren Miller bridge is documented to be 75'. Low tides reportedly increase that clearance by about 6 inches. I'll have 6' to...

Jacksonville Marinas for a Cat?

The 70'+ mast on our Leopard 44 seems to really limit where we can stay. The maps show plenty of nice Marinas just past the Acosta and Warren Miller bridges but as far as I can tell, they are fixed...

Re: International Cruising Power: Transformer?

Thank you very much Ernie. The more international folks I meet the more transformer-based solutions I see. Thank you for taking your time to share your setup with me. -Steve

Re: International Cruising Power: Transformer?

Many thanks! I've read some of the previous posts but its hard to sift through what works and what doesn't as people often contradict the previous author!

I'm hoping to learn what other cruisers...

International Cruising Power: Transformer?

Are transformers common for cruisers who sail internationally?

I'm considering a transformer so I connect to either 50 or 60hz ShorePower but I'm also considering just using my current charger...

Leopard 44 Schematics

Is there a way to get drawings of how the Electrical and Water systems are run? I've been able to find these for many boats but I've not yet found them for this boat. I plan to do some electrical...

Re: Purchasing a Sunsail Charter from Croatia for US and International Cruising

Great reply and I know for my power boats, Ga does not require a title for boats. I'll ask them whether registration is required for USGC documented boats. That seems to be a good place to start for...

JMSchmidt, thank you very much. Your insight helps me ask the agents the right questions. I'm also looking into states to register the boat. I have 4 other smaller boats in Ga and when I bring them...

Jmschmidt, holy cow, I hope that's true and I'm going to look into that deeper. It never occurred to me that I could be exempt from import duty. THank you very much. I'll likely hire an agent to help...

Re: Purchasing a Sunsail Charter from Croatia for US and International Cruising

Good point! I did a little researching and it looks like I'll need to pay 1.5% of the value plus about $1500 of other fees; tax , bond, customs, etc. That's assuming there are no EPA or documentation...

Re: Purchasing a Sunsail Charter from Croatia for US and International Cruising

Thank you very much Valiente. Great idea about the cargo company. I'll see if I can find some shippers. Our spitball idea is to learn the ropes in US coastal and then head out to International...
