Thanks boatpoker. I'll check them out soon. Time is not a huge factor, but wanting to make sure it is doable. |

Re: Washburn to Sault Ste Marie then on to Georgian Bay
Ya, I was afraid of this. Seems like a cold winter again up there. Maybe I should have bought an ice breaker. ;) |

Re: Looking for a 35'-40' sailboat and need some help
Tillsbury...well written post. Very informative on all points. You have swayed me back over the fence again to no in-mast furling. :peace: |

Re: Looking for a 35'-40' sailboat and need some help
Thanks JimJohnston. Never looked much at these boats for some reason...probably because of the size. Not a bad looking boat. We were really hopeful of getting a boat with the sugar scoop stern. ... |

Re: Looking for a 35'-40' sailboat and need some help
Everything you say here has some truth to it, but I'm afraid you missed my initial post. This will not be my first boat, only my first sailboat. I am coming from a 41 foot Carver MY and finding it... |

Re: Looking for a 35'-40' sailboat and need some help
The 35.5 has a very passionate following. The boat may have some issues, but it appears all the owners love them. It really is high on my list also. Thanks for all the plusses mentioned here. ... |

Re: Looking for a 35'-40' sailboat and need some help
I couldn't agree more. Gelcoat is a big one for me. I'll have to get some knowledge on what to check on the running rigging and sails. Is it just the obvious...worn, frayed, loose, cracked etc? |

Re: Looking for a 35'-40' sailboat and need some help
I do seem to be leaning towards the Catalina line also. I have searched both the 36 and 380. What I found with the 380 and also the Hunter 37.5 is they both have a large step up before going down... |

Re: Looking for a 35'-40' sailboat and need some help
Definitely don't mind and kind of want a bit of a project boat. (I just retired) That being said, I don't want a wreck or a boat that wasn't looked after. |

Re: Looking for a 35'-40' sailboat and need some help
Solid advise. We will make getting on boats a priority in Florida. Hopefully come back with some likely candidates and not totally confused. |

Re: Looking for a 35'-40' sailboat and need some help
Boy did I come to the right place. Thanks sailorboy1, sparx, Mike and scuba. This is a great start. There are a lot more options if I don't need inmast furling for solo sailing. I would like to... |
