The Captain told me that the boat was at times really strained in it's usage at the request of the owners. To the tune...

I’m trying to wrap my head around the likelihood of moisture in the fibreglass.
Have a nagging doubt that something in the build material or recent paint (hull paint not bottom paint) might be doing...

I’ve also seen posts of keel water tanks flaming into water flow and ending filters
Saw someone rebuild a keel too, but I think they popped a hole during beaching

I wonder if 40 years of water...

Thanks for al the pointers - made for some interesting reading and also the first time I’ve seen someone having many criticisms of Prout build approach/quality

Looking for some advice on Prout Quasar hull construction and if anyone is familiar with moisture problems in or throughout the fibreglass laminates. Surveyor recently detected high moisture readings...

Ok nice!! So from the sounds of this, you didn’t have to leave country and then cross back into Canada to resolve it?
Thinking the duty might have been that 9.5% for boats from Europe and then 13%...

I’d love to do that - our dinghy has a 15hp block on it though [emoji23]

I’ve seen details about Canadians having their boats in the US and having to tread very carefully around the “For sale” status of their vessels. Advertising “not for sale in US waters”...

Thanks for your response - from my read up the last time I was thinking of bringing our Euro boat back, I found the following

New European boats are now duty free but HST must be paid on purchase...
