Waypoint icons and chart object scale

Hopefully a quick question - I find that some of the waypoint icons are a bit small to be viewed easily (specifically cardinal marks) and was hoping to adjust the size with the user interface chart...

Re: Route Transfers to Navico (Simrad, Zeus, etc.) Plotters from O

I'm happy to make one up for you if you want to PM me your email address. I will also need to confirm that the device provides the NMEA data that your autopilot requires, but that can easily be...

Re: Route Transfers to Navico (Simrad, Zeus, etc.) Plotters from O

Its a fair point about creating routes on the plotter, which is why we use OpenCPN for route creation, and then simply upload it to the device (i.e. usage #1 above). The advantage then is that we...

Re: Route Transfers to Navico (Simrad, Zeus, etc.) Plotters from O

The waypoints do just appear in the waypoint database on the plotter. But we worked out that, if you use custom icons or other attributes, you can very quickly set a filter to display only the...

Re: Route Transfers to Navico (Simrad, Zeus, etc.) Plotters from O

The route is received on the plotter as a list of waypoints. You then need to create a route from them. I haven't yet found a way of receiving the route as a route.

Re: Route Transfers to Navico (Simrad, Zeus, etc.) Plotters from O

Some good questions, which I don't know all of the answers to because I haven't tried all the different ways of using the device with plotter and/or OpenCPN. I tend to do one of the following:
1)...

Re: Route Transfers to Navico (Simrad, Zeus, etc.) Plotters from O

You have it about right. Its a 0183 to 2000 converter, using bluetooth instead of wires. It also navigates along a known set of waypoints - this means that it constantly calculates BTW, DTW and XTE...

Re: Route Transfers to Navico (Simrad, Zeus, etc.) Plotters from O

Its a simple device that plugs into the NMEA 2000 network. The network provides its power, and it uses something like 50mA. The device has a bluetooth receiver which you can connect to (tested from...

Re: Route Transfers to Navico (Simrad, Zeus, etc.) Plotters from O

I have managed to send waypoints over the network from OpenCPN to Zeus2 chart plotter. At present I haven't found a way to send routes.
All achieved using the "Send to GPS" menu option and enabling...

Re: ODraw - beta 1.1

Not sure if this is a "works as designed", but when moving the origin of an EBL the bearing displayed should be from the origin to the target. At the moment it displays the back bearing. I have...

Re: Using "Send to GPS" to send via IP?

I have built a device which translates between bluetooth 0183 and network connected 2000. One of the things that I wanted to do was make use of the Send to GPS function to transfer waypoints to my...

Re: Send to GPS waypoint name truncated

I have fully tested with the bluetooth to NMEA2000 gateway device that I have built, and waypoint names of up to 20 characters are accepted when transmitted onto the network via the Send to GPS...

Re: Send to GPS waypoint name truncated

Thanks Pavel. I guess that 6 characters makes sense for GPS devices from the 1990s. I think that my old Garmin handheld GPS is a perfect example. Most modern devices can handle many more...

Send to GPS waypoint name truncated

I have built a bluetooth enabled gadget that acts as an interface between OpenCPN on my Mac and the NMEA2000 network on my boat. One of the (many) things that it does is listen for waypoints and...
