Have look at the hunter 23.5 or 240, they are water ballast, easy to sail and a very roomy cockpit, even comes with a potty.

Set up is quick and easy, pulls very nice.

I would start out with a smaller like the 27 footers you are looking at, cheaper to maintain and cheaper to moore , the bigger you go the more expensive it gets to moore, or store the boat.

OP if you are looking at Macgregors, have you considered the Hunter 26 or 260? They have a nice big cockpit, nice cabin, a bit wider than the Mac. and very easy to set up and launch.

Not sure if you know but these hunters are waterbalast , so no lead keel , these are are very light trailerable.

I think the reason they stopped building these boats, is because they got bought...
