I recently replaced leaking 316 run of exhaust with silicon hose about 4 ft after elbow .i have monitored temps and found nothing above 140 F.

The Defiance mast is 2 piece aluminum as is the boom,all sail and gear stows neatly in the carry bag that also holds the oars.

I have used a small trolling motor electric type.
I would suggest a small output electric rechargeable or small gas or propane.
The boat is very slick tracks straight due to the excellent design...
