Batteries not charging
I have a Sea Ray Sundancer with 4 new batteries. When I fired up the engines last week I noticed a lack of energy in them and the meter said they were all at around 50%. The boat is docked with 30amp... |

Re: Asleep at the wheel
An update: I got out to the boat yesterday. Met a mechanic out there... We checked the oil, not milky so no water, no gasket blown. Radiator water was very low. Checked impellers, pumps, hoses and... |

Re: Asleep at the wheel
Wow... Thanks for the input. The schematic was very helpful. I will get back out there in a week or two and let you know what I found. I live about 80 miles away so I can't just head out when I want.... |

Re: Asleep at the wheel
Guys... I'm busting a gut over here. I don't think I have a $10k problem. I would bet I don't even have a $1k problem. And, as I mentioned earlier, I am not the least bit interested in suing. On... |

Re: Asleep at the wheel
To Thunderbird... Sorry to have inconvenienced you. I did receive quite a bit of value from these folks and am not much of a mechanic. I am a fishing fool and found a boat I thought my wife might... |

Re: Repower Catalina 27
I owned a Catalina 27 and she carried a 9.9 Honda. I needed all of it at times with strong current in SF Bay. Wouldn't feel comfortable with less unless it was on a lake with no wind. No wind... Not... |

Re: Asleep at the wheel
Thanks for the great advise. Yes, this is my first experience with a boat that doesn't sail or have an outboard (my Klamath fishing boat in years past inspired my "handle"). Much to learn and you all... |

Re: Asleep at the wheel
Suing was never an option. Do enclosed fresh water engines have impellers? I think my first move will be to check engine oil for water. If no water then I dodged one big bullet, right? Compression... |

Re: Asleep at the wheel
Engines are fresh water cooled. He just flushed them both and put in new antifreeze. My guess is he had no idea this was coming. I kick myself for not watching the gauges. I think I might have... |

Asleep at the wheel
I recently purchased a 1987 Sea Ray Sundowner 300. On my second excursion upon my 30 minute return to the marina at about 3000 rpm I idled down to moor it. Much to my surprise I saw quite a bit of... |

Can't Sleep
Hello all, I am new to the forum and am consummating a purchase of a Catalina 27 tomorrow. I learned to sail some 40 years ago on a Sunfish (self taught). Stepped up to a Laser a few years later.... |
