I have had the same problem in win 8.
Problem is the file is located in a folder which is hidden.
Go to the folder that should contain the unvisible folder "pathdata".
And the turn on view hidden...

An intermediate method to thread inserts I use.
Fill the hole with liquid epoxy precoating.
Fill the whole with thick epoxy glue.
Insert Bolt coated with spray on vaseline without the hinge.
