Re: Battery Cable Crimping Tool

Bought one from Horror Freight years ago; worked perfectly and was borrowed many times by other sailors who liked it as well....

Re: 10 REASONS NOT TO BUY VIKING PROPANE CYLINDERS.

I was able to get mine filled at Ace Hardware, many miles from Pensacola. No trouble getting them filled in the Bahamas. That said, I would never buy them again.

At the helm, I have an Axiom, which I use for Radar, AIS, and to insure that my iPad running Aqua Charts & Navionics are in agreement with the Axiom. We also follow along with paper charts. Under the...

Portland Pudgy

I bought the Portland Pudgy new in 2016 and used it extensively in the Bahamas; unfortunately, our Pudgy received some bumps and bruises from Hurricane Sally, but unlike our sailboat, it survived....

Duct insulation for storage

I’ve always admired the custom teak storage dividers below the sole boards, but I don’t have the skills to make them, so I used the two bubble foil covered duct insulation. It’s padded, waterproof,...

Re: Spectra 150 Watermaker

Thank you, Ben; we replaced our boat with a Sun Odyssey 40.3, very similar to our SO 40. Bought it in New Jersey in November and sailed it back to Pensacola, enjoying two kinds of conditions: cold...

Re: Solar panel and AC advice

In Pensacola, which is in the panhandle of north Florida, during the peak summer, sleeping inside the boat is usually unbearable, even at anchor with a little breeze. The cockpit is the only refuge...

Re: Recommendations for places to move on Florida's gulf side?

Perhaps you could take a nice drive along our Gulf towns from Pensacola and on down to find the job and vibe that fits. I love Pensacola, but everyplace has charms.
