Hello fellow Seawind owner! I just got mine over the summer, shes a 1963 and pretty rough around the edges now but I'll be using this winter to get her back up to snuff. I'm in Newport, RI and will be here until the end of next summer when we go south. Anyway, I have a question for you about those external chainplates...was this a modification you did or did you get it like that? Did you or the person who installed them reinforce the hull at all? I need to replace mine ASAP (brown, rusty water coming down the bulkhead!) and would like to go external if that's an option.
