Hey, wondering how to improve as a sailor, I have fished off the coast of Rupert and Kitimat with other skippers, and sailed a 28 footer on Lake Eerie for 12 years, logged a thousand sea miles, or so. Natalie and I would like to cruise the coast from Rupert or Van up to Kitsault/Alice Arm and Gingolix area. We are very nervous about the tides, races etc.... other than taking the power squadron course, again, what would you recommend before making a commitment to buying a boat there. Hello NW diver. My name is Andrew, and i have been reading through the livaboard posts and you seem to have an intimate knowledge of the vancouver scene. I am 27, just finished wooden boatbuilding course in port Townsend, rebuilt the interior of a free bayliner bucaneer, and me and my girl friend lys are looking to livaboard in vanouver, she attends ubc so we would hope to be somewhat closer to that part of town. If you wouldnt mind giving me a few tips on where to look, or what your advice might be that would be wonderful. And i was also wondering what the anchoring regulations are like in false creek.
