Hi, i live aboard and cruise in a junk rigged colvin doxy i have had since the beginning of 2007. I am considdering swapping her over to a gaff rig in the next few years and was wondering if you had time to answer some questions for me or share some pictures. One of my concerns is that in the original drawings mr colvin gave me the masts are further forward on the gaff version. This makes sense because the junk version has additional sail area in front of the mast and he would have wanted to maintain the same centers of effort my concern is that switching to a gaff without moving the masts will move her center of efforts and compromise how beutifully she ballences right now. If you have time to share your experiences send me an email at svdrummer at gmail.
Thanks

*also, i just welded a 24' by 10" ibeam on the keel, increasing her draft from 4'6" to 5'4" and i am absolutely thrilled in my preliminary seatrails - a fraction of her previous leeway!
