    Sailing since I was ten, but incredibly intermittently. First boat a 12' thing called a Jolly Scott. Dad had a J18, similar to a Folkboat. Got a Wood's Strider, 24' catamaran daysailor, which I never had time to use. A good friend bought and restored in my workshops a 27' steel sloop of unclear heritage. We sailed her across October Bay of Biscay in 1987 or something like that. I fly home, he carried on to Indonesia. Chartered a bit, Lagoon 450 and realised I wanted sailing potential more than systems and comfort. Finished a refit of a 45' open bridgedeck Shuttleworth.
