- Best sailing experience and longest voyage at age 23. Two weeks from Mallorca, to Menorca then to Marseilles. Becalmed for one week in beautiful Ciutadella. En route to Marsellies, climb mast to free jammed halyard right before Force 11 Mistral hit. Sailed to France bare poles, under expert guidance of Captain Tom Fenwick, who taught me basic radio and sextant navigation. Sorry about snapping the tiller in the storm swell Captain Tom!
