    Yes, Upwind its slams badly, So I dont sail or motor upwind unless necessary,
    The only reason I never took the main sail and boom off the boat totally, Is its a back up if my Genoa or Jib ever fail,
    I was going to sail to some very remote ares of Australia, 500 miles to the nearest any thing, The Kimberlys are very remote,

    Read your post about not using the main on your 105MC. Would love to own one someday. So you feel you get slammed hard with the low bridge deck going into the wind. And you don't mess with the main - that wild. So you don't feel that the main adds much to speed. Are there times where it's worthwhile. How about light airs?
