The 'Racer' trip ended in Holland where we put her on a ship for Florida.. lovely boat and an exciting sail but everything on board was well past sell by date.. things broke water came through the hatches from waves.. no way she would have survived the trip across to the UK.. never mind the Atlantic..
As for me.. I'm picking up a boat from Malta end of this month.. take it to Spain then over to Florida to collect a 35ftr to sail to Gibraltar via the Azores leaving in late May.
Once again.. really pleased you got a great ride for your 1st adventure.. have a grand Summer and keep in touch.. (Y)

things are great! I did find a ride. A dutch guy - Hein. His 62" alu monohull was in a boat yard in portugal where I joined. after 10 days preparing we were launched and went to the Canaries. we were 3 people on board at first, but were joined by one more on Grand Canaria. after a small cruise there we did the crossing in one stretch. we had to go all the way to 14°N before we found some real winds so the total crossing took 20 days. But we had calm seas all the way and when the wind picked up we sailed around 6-9 knots the last 10 days. We arrived in Martinique on jan 6th and I was there for just a week before it was time to go home and back to school. So thats where I am right now. But the ride was awesome. I caught a meter long yellowfin tuna, we saw dolphins by the bunch, got surrounded by pilot whales and the starry skies and fluorescence at night was breathtaking. it was amazing!
how about you? how are things? what has the end story about the Americas cup racer?
