I'm Walter and I'm in the process of rebuilding a Cascade 42 HS, owner finished. The sheer clamp is completely rotten in most spots from deck leaks, sounds like you have a ton of experience in this area. Your time permitting I would love to pick your brain, our plan is to cut out the 12" of deck where it meets the hull to remove rot and then laminate the new clamp with mahogany as you did.
