    Gday Bill

I was in error in my previous note. I have an enclosed Powersurvivor 80, so not one long vessel but two with the inlet next to the outlets.

    Gday Bill,

You helped me with advice in my watermaker. I would like to ask some advice again.

I have a modular Powersurvivor 80, and have replaced the pressure vessel with a 2514 version. I am having issues because I have to get the high pressure brine back to the inlet side and the stainless pipe there. The length of hose needed is about 450mm.

The problem I am having is identifying the type of hose fitting required. I know the pressure vessel uses 1/4 NPT fittings but the stainless end fittings have a tapered section that I can't seem to identify. I am hoping that your Powersurvivor also has the same type of fittings on the high pressure hoses. Can you tell me what they are called? Even better, where to get some in stainless?

    Thanks

    Phil

    Gday Bill,

A very generous friend just gave me his Katadyn 80 watermaker. It is the twin membrane version. It is not making clean water, the TDS is too high at the moment. I will probably need to replace membranes, either now or sometime in the future. Can I just use a longer single housing with matching membrane for this unit? I am in Australia and a local company has a DOW equivalent membrane - Seawater RO Membrane SW-2540 Replaces DOW SW30-2540 2.5" x 40" - OZ STOCK for $310 AUD

It also has a stainless housing as well in 304, for but there are fibreglass ones as well.

I am at a loss as to the best way forward. Two new membranes would be a lot of money. I would rather set myself up for a good long term setup. Can you give me some advice please?

    Cheers

    Phil Thompson
