Picture 13 of 20 from Album First Coastal Passage
Steven's Extra Hour of Watch. I did not sleep during my time to sleep -- too keyed up. So Steven did an extra hour duty during the night. You can tell the effects of fatigue between his last hour and then my coming on watch. The course line goes from squirrely to dead-on. It took me a little while to cut back into the course line. I was surprised that such an experienced person could be so affected by fatigue. Of course, I had already learned the hard way that with a following sea, you take your hands off the wheel, you are off course in a heartbeat as you can see from MAG COG Vs MAG BRG! The remaining 20NM is the distance to the main SD buoy -- not to the marina.
