Sounds like a nice plan. Where are you located now and would you be sailing to Phuket area or seeking to purchase a boat that is in that region?

Hi Paul, Friends and family will join sometimes and sometime alone. Have been around boats most of my life and have owned 24 and 35 foot launches and a Bendytoy 430 that lost it's rudder 300 miles south of Fiji. Thinking of retiring on a boat Langkawi/Phuket area. I am lead to believe the clear water, white sandy beach and palm trees and nemo's actually exist in this area. Like to go looking for them.

What sort of cruising are you planning - solo - a couple - or family? Coastal or offshore? What size boat r u looking for and where will you be sailing? If you could advise your experience to date - I could offer some advice. I have owned a wonderful 38' sloop for 20 years and also chartered extensively on many different size and brands and rigs - some in US and some in Caribbean and Greece so tell us more about your cruising aspirations.
