Hi Eric we did all our research prior to leaving and came to the best boat available in the world at that point in time, that is any that were internet advertised.
The boat was advertised at 330,000 euros we paid 295,000 euros and the owner gave all custom linen, alcohol (lots) and his mooring in Kremik for three months and then three in 1 years full insurance with Genarali, so here we are learning this beautiful yacht whilst we cruise the stunning coast and islands of Croatia.
The boat is like new the owner has ordered a new 450 and didn't want this one anymore much to our delight. It's loaded with extras the sails like everything else are unused the genset had 120 hours and the engines 740 a piece...
We looked in America however we found the quality is far better here... Cheers Frank

    Hi L4us

I was reading your posts on "Buying a Cat in the Med" and wondered what you ended up paying for your 440 and what its asking price was. You mentioned 25% discount. Did you do better than that? How long did you spend in the Med looking or did you identify all your prospects before making the long trip. It sounded like you also shopped in the US too, how did that go? Did you have any techniques for finding the rich owner with a new boat on the way? Did you use a buyers broker or did you negotiate directly with the selling broker? Do you think it would be better to shop in low season like November or does it matter?

    Thank you

    Eric Lindahl
