Yea, we've been out several weekends and a few week nights. We were out for the 4th but didn't really go anywhere just around the lake. Currently we've been busy demolishing our in-ground pool (read swamp hole). I've been renting a bobcat on the weekends with a big jackhammer on it! So that's been exhausting, we are thinking about getting back out there this weekend though.

Hey Appick, did you get your boat out? Been out on mine almost every weekend so far, spent all of last week on her with my 2 boys. Been a nice steep learning curve but fun!

I dont have much teak on my boat, that was one thing I do love but I am afraid the maintenance would kill my love for it. I am planning on taking tomorrow all to myself and work on the boat finally. I do have one more room, the wifes office, to finish but I have a work furlough coming up week after next I told her I would do it then. I should be able to get the thru hulls done tomorrow hopefully.

Haha, that story sounds earily familiar to me! I'm just finishing up a complete remodel of the main floor of our house after 2 years. Everything from the subfloors and the stairs to trim, fixtures, bathroom, ect. Welcome to the club so to speak. Yea the conservation club is a great spot, it's nice to have the workshop there and lots of friendly people around to lend a hand. I've go my boat for sale to upgrade to something a bit bigger, but I've still got a cutlass bearing to do yet this spring and as always some more varnishing!

Hey Sorry I didnt answer sooner...I didnt notice the notifications in the upper right when I log on. I got a slip at the Muskegon Conservation club rented for the season. Its a bit of an old marina but I have a friend that has his boat there and besides, I hope to be sailing more than being tied to the dock. At the moment I am replacing my thru hulls and the boat is finally in my driveway! Im trying to balance my time with finishing a remodel on a couple of rooms in the house as I promised my wife and working on the boat...now thats a hard thing to do!! I am thinking the ice is probably melted but its probably pretty cold out there on the lake at the moment. Anyhow nice to meet you and I hope to meet you in person this summer!

Hey it's always nice to meet another Grand Rapids/ Muskegon sailor! Congratulations on the purchase! I hope you can get your wife to love it as much as you do. We too sail out of Harbor Towne Marina and I'd echo everything the other guy said. If you're looking to buy a slip Harbor Towne is a great place and there are several slips for under $10k right now, which is a great deal! Anyways hope to see you out there enjoying yourselves. White Lake is a great friday night sail up the coast to spend the night at. You can anchor out by the Yacht club on the south side as you come in.

Heres to the ice melting quick and getting the boats wet soon!
