Cruising and Cochlear Implants

Are there any cruisers out there who use Cochlear Implants or have kids with Cochlear Implants?
We are looking at starting our journey in early 2018. One of my daughters has Cochlear Implants. I am wondering:

1. Are there any practical implications when living aboard and circumnavigating?
2. How you deal with needing new MAPs while in different countries?
3. Whether you do anything special terms of alarms, etc?

I would appreciate any advice.
