Re: South of England to Patagonia - How long?

I'm pretty sure Trevor Robinson has also solo-ed the channels on Ironbark. Gives handy tips in his blog.

His son took his own life a few years before the author set off on his voyage. His son was also a long-distance sailor, and the author kind of wanted to retrace his son's steps to a small island in the Pacific.

The "back story" aspects of the book are probably less than 2% of the book, so if you're only interested in the sailing, the dead son dimension doesn't drag the writing down.
